Why it made the list

A performance tool can have a Microsoft Teams app and still send you out of Teams to do the actual work. Among the seven tools below, the Teams apps range from running goals, feedback and 1:1s inside Teams to sending notifications only. We read each vendor's own Teams help page on 2 November 2026 and sorted the tools by what you can finish without leaving Teams.

This list covers one buying question: which tool fits a company that already lives in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365. For the wider market, see our list of the best performance management software.

Microsoft Teams Apps Compared

The table shows what each vendor's own pages say the Teams app can do. "Not stated" means the vendor's page does not say, so test it in a trial before you commit.

Tool Done inside Teams Notifications or web app only Admin setup noted by the vendor
Teamflect (review) Goals and OKRs, feedback, recognition and tasks from chat; 1:1 talking points in Teams meetings; reviews and meetings listed on the help page Not itemized by the vendor Needs a Microsoft 365 account; listed on Microsoft AppSource with SSO and Entra ID sync
Betterworks (review) View and update goals and milestones, give and request feedback, give recognition, comment on goals Goal activity, due conversations and a weekly summary arrive as notifications Existing Betterworks customers only; setup starts inside Betterworks; Microsoft admin consent needed
Culture Amp (review) Give shoutouts, respond to and request feedback, complete survey invitations, reports and action tasks Actions that need a secure session open the Culture Amp platform A Culture Amp admin connects Teams first; Teams and Culture Amp emails must match
Perdoo (review) Official app: view, create and update goals. Self-installable app: submit your user review, including Pulse Not stated Teams integration on all plans; the self-installable app needs a Teams admin to upload a zip file
15Five (review) 1:1s only: see upcoming and recent 1:1s, add talking points and action items, mark action items complete Everything else opens 15Five; notifications include Kona meeting notes A Teams IT admin must allow the app; a paid 15Five plan is required
Lattice (review) Not stated beyond viewing reports you have permission for Feedback, goal updates, review actions, 1:1s and surveys arrive as notifications Admin in both Lattice and Teams; app set to "Available to everyone" in Teams Admin Center
Leapsome (review) Nothing stated; the help page says you cannot send instant feedback or praise from Teams Chatbot notifications, reminders and digests Leapsome admin plus Azure AD Global Administrator; only one Teams team can be connected

How We Sorted These Tools

We ranked each tool on one question: how much of the performance cycle can an employee or manager finish without leaving Teams? We read the Teams help page or integration page of each vendor, plus its Microsoft AppSource listing where one exists, and we record only what those pages state. Anything a page does not state is marked as not stated, not guessed.

Three setup details decide whether the rollout is smooth. First, whether a Teams admin must approve the app or grant Microsoft Graph permissions. Second, whether the email in Teams must exactly match the email in the performance tool. Third, whether single sign-on and user sync with Microsoft Entra ID need a higher plan. Where a vendor states these, we list them in the tool section.

What About Microsoft Viva?

Microsoft's own Viva Goals was retired on 31 December 2025, according to Microsoft's retirement page, so it is not on this list. Teams users who relied on it for OKRs should look at OKR software that runs in Teams. Viva Glint is still sold for employee surveys, but Microsoft's Teams page describes it as a notification channel for survey invitations, reminders and results, and it is priced as an add-on to Viva bundles, not as a standalone performance tool.

Best Performance Management Software for Microsoft Teams

Each section below lists what the Teams app does, who it fits, and the pricing we found on the vendor's own page on 2 November 2026.

1. Teamflect

Teamflect is built for organizations that run on Microsoft 365. Its integrations page says you can create tasks, Goals and OKRs, feedback or recognition from the Teams chat menu, add Teamflect to a Teams meeting for 1:1 talking points, and act on notifications inside Teams. Its help page says you can manage goals, feedback, reviews and meetings from Teams. Neither page says how much of a full review cycle can be written inside Teams, so run one test review on the free plan or in the 30-day Professional trial before you decide.

The Microsoft AppSource listing states Single Sign-on and Microsoft Entra ID sync. It does not name SAML or SCIM, and it does not state a plan requirement. For a side-by-side with two other tools, see Teamflect vs Lattice and Teamflect vs Betterworks.

Key Features

  • Teams app listed on Microsoft AppSource
  • Goals and OKRs, feedback, recognition and tasks created from the Teams chat menu
  • 1:1 agendas with talking points, goals and recognition inside Teams meetings
  • Performance reviews, engagement surveys and 360-degree feedback
  • Microsoft Entra ID sync for org structure

Best For

  • Companies where employees spend the day in Teams and Outlook
  • HR teams that want one tool for reviews, goals, 1:1s and recognition

Pros and Cons

  • Pro: the vendor describes the app as a place to act, not only to be notified
  • Pro: prices are published, and a free plan covers up to 10 users
  • Con: it needs a Microsoft 365 environment to deliver its main benefit
  • Con: it is not an HRIS, so it works alongside your HR system
  • Con: the vendor pages do not itemize how far reviews can go inside Teams

Pricing

Teamflect's Starter plan is free for up to 10 users. Essential is $7 and Professional is $11 per user per month billed annually, or $9 and $14 billed monthly. Starter and Essential users can start a free 30-day trial of Professional.

Support matters in a rollout. See which performance management vendors state a dedicated customer success manager.

2. Betterworks

Betterworks has the broadest in-Teams goal tools after Teamflect. Its help page and Microsoft AppSource listing state that you can view and update goals and milestones, give feedback, request feedback, give recognition and comment on goals, through a pinned message extension, a bot, chats and channels. Notifications cover goal activity, due conversations, recognition and feedback received, pending requests and a weekly summary.

The AppSource listing says the app works only for current Betterworks customers, so you cannot trial it from Teams first. Setup starts inside Betterworks (Admin, Platform Configuration, Third party Integrations), not in AppSource. Betterworks lists admin consent for two Microsoft Graph permissions, User.Read.All and TeamsAppInstallation.ReadWriteForUser.All. Known limits: you cannot search for a person from the app, and admins cannot rename or disable commands. We could not verify its Entra ID single sign-on or SCIM details. See Betterworks alternatives if the cost or setup does not fit.

Key Features

  • Goal and milestone updates from Teams
  • Feedback, feedback requests and recognition from Teams
  • Weekly summary and pending request notifications
  • OKRs, check-ins and calibration in the main platform

Best For

  • Larger organizations that already run OKRs in Betterworks
  • Teams that want goal updates inside chat and channels

Pros and Cons

  • Pro: goals, feedback and recognition can all be handled from Teams
  • Con: the Teams app is for existing customers only
  • Con: setup needs admin rights in both products and Microsoft admin consent
  • Con: no person search inside the app

Pricing

Betterworks' pricing page lists Performance at $8 and Performance + Talent Intelligence at $9 per user per month. Enterprise pricing is custom, and implementation is a separate one-time cost. Betterworks says it adds the most value above 500 employees.

3. Culture Amp

Culture Amp puts surveys and feedback in Teams. Its Teams help page (July 2026) says users can give and receive shoutouts, respond to and request feedback, share feedback with managers where enabled, and complete survey invitations, reports and action tasks. You only log in to Culture Amp for actions that need a secure session.

Notifications cover Engagement, Performance, Effectiveness and Experience, plus Skills Coach. Feedback needs the Performance product enabled. A Culture Amp admin must connect Teams first, a Teams admin may need to enable the app, and notifications need the Teams email to match the Culture Amp profile. Culture Amp's help center states SAML single sign-on with Entra ID on all subscriptions. SCIM is not mentioned on that page. See Teamflect vs Culture Amp for a comparison.

Key Features

  • Survey invitations, reports and action tasks in Teams
  • Shoutouts and feedback in Teams
  • Notifications across Engagement, Performance and Experience products
  • Entra ID SAML single sign-on on all subscriptions

Best For

  • HR teams where engagement surveys are the main use case
  • Companies that want survey completion to happen in Teams

Pros and Cons

  • Pro: surveys and feedback can be completed without leaving Teams
  • Pro: the Teams app is available on all subscriptions with an active Teams subscription
  • Con: some actions still open the Culture Amp platform
  • Con: no published price

Pricing

Culture Amp does not publish a price. It says pricing depends on the number of employees, the product and the service tier, and all products are billed annually.

4. Perdoo

Perdoo offers two Teams apps. The official app has restricted functionality: you can view, create and update goals from the Home view and open Team and User pages. The self-installable app puts the full Perdoo app inside Teams, and its help page says users can submit their User Review, including Pulse, and update goals that are due. The help page does not mention notifications.

Perdoo says the Teams integration is available on all plans. The self-installable app needs a Teams IT admin to upload a zip file. Perdoo's help center states that SAML single sign-on and SCIM with Entra ID are available on Premium and Supreme, and trial accounts are limited to Google sign-in. Perdoo focuses on goals and OKRs, so it covers fewer performance review needs than the tools above.

Key Features

  • Goal creation and updates in Teams through the official app
  • Full Perdoo app inside Teams through the self-installable version
  • Pulse and user review submission in Teams
  • Entra ID SAML single sign-on and SCIM on Premium and Supreme

Best For

  • Teams that run on OKRs and want goal updates inside Teams
  • Smaller companies that want a free plan to start

Pros and Cons

  • Pro: the Teams integration is included on all plans
  • Pro: the self-installable app brings a fuller experience into Teams
  • Con: the self-installable app needs an IT admin to upload a zip file
  • Con: it is an OKR tool first, not a full review platform

Pricing

Perdoo lists Premium at €6.40 and Supreme at €8 per user per month, with a free plan for up to 5 users. The billing term is not stated on the page we read.

5. 15Five

15Five has a Teams app, but it covers 1:1s only. Its help page (September 2026) says the Home tab shows your upcoming 1:1s and the five most recent completed ones. You can open a 1:1 to add talking points and action items and mark action items complete, with changes syncing back to 15Five. A deep link opens the full 1:1 in 15Five. The bot also sends 15Five notifications to your personal chat, including Kona meeting notes after 1:1s.

A Teams IT admin must allow the app in the tenant, the Teams email must match the 15Five email exactly, and an active paid 15Five plan is required. 15Five's identity page lists SAML single sign-on and SCIM with Azure AD, configured separately, and does not name plan gating. See Lattice vs 15Five for how it compares.

Key Features

  • 1:1 view, talking points and action items in Teams
  • Kona meeting notes sent to your Teams chat
  • Check-ins, OKRs and reviews in the main platform
  • SAML single sign-on and SCIM with Azure AD

Best For

  • Managers who run weekly 1:1s in Teams
  • Teams that are fine finishing reviews and check-ins in the web app

Pros and Cons

  • Pro: 1:1 preparation and follow-up happen where the meeting happens
  • Con: reviews, check-ins and goals are not stated as in-Teams actions
  • Con: a mismatch between the Teams email and the 15Five email blocks the app

Pricing

15Five lists Engage at $4, Perform at $11 and Total Platform at $16 per user per month, billed annually. Kona Notetaker is $2 per employee.

6. Lattice

Lattice has a Teams integration that mostly sends notifications. Its help page (September 2026) calls the connection a read only API connection and lists notifications for feedback received, public goal updates, required review actions, incoming 1:1s, Updates, and Engagement and Pulse surveys. Users can view reports they have permission for. The page does not state that reviews or goals can be written inside Teams.

You must be an admin in both Lattice and Teams, and the app must be set to Available to everyone in Teams Admin Center. Adding it to a policy for some users installs it for everyone. Lattice's help center says its SCIM setup with Microsoft is a custom setup, because it has no official Entra integration. We did not verify its single sign-on details. See Lattice alternatives if you want more done inside Teams.

Key Features

  • Teams notifications for feedback, goals, reviews, 1:1s and surveys
  • Report viewing based on your permissions
  • Reviews, goals, engagement and compensation in the main platform

Best For

  • Companies that are happy for employees to act in the Lattice web app and use Teams as the reminder channel

Pros and Cons

  • Pro: reminders reach employees where they already work
  • Con: the Teams app is notification-focused
  • Con: installing it for some users installs it for everyone
  • Con: Entra SCIM is a custom setup

Pricing

Lattice's pricing page lists Performance at $10, Goals & OKRs at $8 and Engagement at $4 per seat per month, with a Foundations bundle at $13. Compensation (+$6) and Grow (+$4) are add-ons. Billing is annual with a $4,000 minimum.

7. Leapsome

Leapsome has a Teams chatbot, but its help page says you cannot send instant feedback or praise from Teams and must open Leapsome. The bot sends private notifications, reminders and digests for feedback, reviews, meetings, surveys and goal updates, and it can post public praise, birthdays and anniversaries to one chosen channel.

Setup needs a Leapsome admin and the Azure AD Global Administrator role. Only one Teams team can be connected, and emails must match with users active before setup. Leapsome's help center states SCIM works with Entra ID only, and on-premises Active Directory must sync to Entra first. We could not confirm plan gating. See 15Five vs Leapsome for how it compares with another check-in tool.

Key Features

  • Private Teams notifications, reminders and digests
  • Public praise and celebrations in one chosen channel
  • Reviews, OKRs, surveys, learning and compensation in the main platform

Best For

  • Companies that want a broad people platform and accept web-app actions

Pros and Cons

  • Pro: a wide product range, with an HRIS foundation option
  • Con: no in-Teams feedback or praise sending
  • Con: only one Teams team can be connected
  • Con: setup needs an Azure AD Global Administrator

Pricing

Leapsome's pricing page lists an HRIS foundation at €7 per employee per month and Pro at €10 (shown at €5 until 31 December). Talent Suite modules are priced in an online calculator. A 14-day free trial is offered.

How to Test a Teams App Before You Buy

A vendor demo shows the best case, so test the Teams app in your own tenant. Use this short checklist.

  • Ask which actions work inside Teams and which open the web app, then try one of each as a regular employee.
  • Check which Microsoft Graph permissions the app asks for, and get your Teams admin to approve them before the pilot.
  • Confirm that Teams emails match the emails in the performance tool, because several vendors block the app on a mismatch.
  • Ask which plan includes Entra ID single sign-on and user sync.
  • Run one full review step, such as writing a self-assessment, to see where the Teams app hands you off. If adoption stalls after launch, our guide on why employees stop logging into performance tools covers the usual causes.
